From the moment he was inaugurated, the Tanzanian head of state has gone about cutting public spending in various sectors. From suspending the countryโ€™s Independence Day celebrations to reportedly reducing his parliamentary house address to less than 30 minutes, Magufuli declared that the Tanzanian people needed less talk and more action.

The Bulldozer as he is nicknamed also banned unnecessary foreign travel for ministers and all government officials. ย ย Just last week, Magufuli slashed the cost of a party to inaugurate the new parliament from an estimated Ksh10.2 million to Ksh700,000.
