Govenor Alfred Mutua’s father is not a Luo, mother says

– She says the claims are lies and it could be confusion with her sister
The mother of the Machakos governor, Alfred Mutua, is unhappy and angry at the comments concerning her children’s paternity.
Agnes Mutua claims the stories that her son has a Luo father are not just affecting her but the family, especially her husband.
She claims to only have two children whose father is alive and well.
“I have only two children and their father is alive,” Agnes said.
Agnes stated that her husband’s patience is being provoked and that could strain her relationship with him.
According to the central Alego member of the county assembly, Leonard Oriaro, the Machakos governor has Luo blood as his father came from his ward.
Oriaro claims that Mutua’s father is called Habil Otieno Lut and that he is free to run as Siaya governor if he fails to get support in Machakos.
Oriaro also claimed that Mutua’s birth name was Alfred Otieno Odango and that his father died in Mombasa in the early 90’s and that Mutua had arranged for the body to be airlifted to Siaya for burial.
But Agnes vehemently denies those claims and says that it is not her but her sister who was married to a Luo man in Siaya.
Agnes says her sister was married to Maj John Luttson, who has since died and it should not be confused with her.
Governor Mutua has denied the claims that his father was from the Luo community.
Mutua, on Thursday, February 4, told a newspaper that he was surprised to hear the claims.
“I’m hearing it for the first time. I went to Nyanza to bury Hon Raphael Tuju’s father. My aunt was married to the late Major John Luttson from Siaya. Myself, no blood links in Nyanza,” said Alfred Mutua in a text message sent to The Star.
