Maina Kageni and Caroline Mutoko attacked for ‘breaking marriages’ in Kenya
– Maina Kageni and Caroline Mutoko have been bashed by blogger Cyprian Nyakundi.
– Nyakundi believes the two are promoting moral decay and prostitution through their shows on radio.
– Nyakundi hopes CA will curtail Maina and end his career.
– The two are veteran media personalities.
Media personalities Maina Kageni and Caroline Mutoko have woken up to a harsh Wednesday following an outburst from popular controversial blogger Cyprian Nyakundi.
For starters, Mutoko and Kageni are some of the veteran radio personalities in Kenya, and they are well known for courting controversy through their heated radio shows on Kiss 100 and Classic 105 respectively.
While Mutoko has since retired from radio having ruled for over a decade, Maina Kageni is still on radio and is one of the most listened to morning show radio hosts. And this can be attributed to his controversial shows which the Communication Authority now wants to nip at the peek.
During her days, Mutoko advocated for feminism and equal rights for women. Quite a number of male listeners considered her an inciter because of the stand she took and the ideologies she preached.
Maina on his part, is a self-proclaimed Nairobi women representative. The guy has the tendency to stand with women, advising them why they should treat their men in a certain way and why they should not tolerate certain behaviours in relationships.
Well, this has not gone down well with a number of men, one of them being blogger Cyprian Nyakundi.
In a lengthy social media post, Nyakundi has ranted against the duo, accusing them of being home wreckers and moral decay perpetrators who have mastered the art of causing social disorder through ‘bad topics’ on their shows.
“She was all about standards and women not entertaining mediocrity. She had little regards of companionship or marriage and trivialized men from a financial perspective. Many misguided women fall by the wayside of her preaching. And with that came the sharp rise of single-mothers at the dawn of the new millenium, a scenario that continues to pan out to date,” Nyakundi said of Mutoko.
He complained how ladies in Kenya have fallen for her ‘bad teachings’ and now they lack respect for men and the marriage institution.
The blogger alleges that Mutoko even went further to promote prostitution by campaigning for socialite Vera Sidika for the Big Brother Africa project.
“Caroline Mutoko even campaigned for Vera Sidika’s nomination into the Big Brother Africa project, an even more absurd endorsement from the so-called radio queen, helping elevate the hitherto unknown socialite on the mainstream media, thus opening another career line for women that may want to sell their bodies to old politicians that Caroline Mutoko was pimping them to,” he added.
Of Maina Kageni, Nyakundi believes that together with Comedian Churchill who is well known as Mwalimu King’ang’i on the show, they have promoted immorality and devilish behaviours in the country.
He says that Maina does not respect marriages and his work is to break them down one by one having himself failed to marry even after turning 43.
“Maina also has little regard for the marriage institution and thus endeavoured to compromise the image and respect of a Kenyan man, which was reduced to a cash-dispenser. Women in Kenya were programmed to only respond to financial incentives, not principles, morals or decency,” the blogger ranted.
According to him, it is Maina and King’ang’i who have masterminded clandestine activities and urged young women to have multiple illicit sexual relations with older men for financial gain.
He says Maina and Mutoko have combined to lead a moral malaise and promote prostitution and have wrecked an entire generation with toxic discourse.
Nyakundi believes that a day will come when the two will be held accountable for the moral decadency they have caused in Kenya.
This is yet another controversy the blogger is spinning. It is not the first time he has had a run-in with media personalities.
Nyakundi has a long standing feud with NTV’s Larry Madowo and at some point he threatened to sue the news anchor over an article he deemed defamatory.
He is also a strong critique of the media in Kenya but has also found himself in scandals that have sometimes seen him thrown to jail.
He was exposed, in 2015, allegedly soliciting for a KSh50 million bribe from BIDCO company to kill a negative story. Nyakundi has also been sued by giant telecommunication company Safaricom for defamation.
He was recently arrested and detained under unclear circumstances but it was alleged that Mombasa governor Hassan Joho had reported him to the police over a defamatory article he wrote.
