Police in Ruiru on Wednesday arrested a disabled man for growing and peddling bhang in Ruiru, Kiambu County.
John Mbugua was arrested alongside six of his customers who were found at his house in Gitambaya village.
The officers were acting on a tip off from concerned residents. Led by Ruiru OCPD Isaac Thuranira, the officers raided Mr. Mbugua’s home and uprooted the bhang worth half a million from the suspect’s shamba.
They also recovered 3 sacks of bhang and rolling apparatus.
The arrest comes weeks after eight other bhang peddlers in the area surrendered to police after spending nights in the forest for fear of being arrested.
