It was a day in hell for a middle-aged woman who was caught stealing from a client in one of the Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) branches.
Reports indicate that the smartly dressed lady is part of a larger group robbing customers in banks and was captured in the act by CCTV cameras in KCB’s Ruiru branch.
She was immediately apprehended while her two accomplices fled before security officers could arrest them.
The woman was frog-marched around the financial institution and other banks in the area with a placard written ‘I am a thief, mimi ni mwizi’ hanging from her neck.
KCB Ruiru branch operations manager Moses Mwanza confirmed that the woman was later taken to the Ruiru Police Station.
It is alleged that she had stolen Sh5,000 from a client who was filling in a deposit slip.
