NAIROBI, Kenya, Jun 30 โ The latest results of a survey carried out by pollsters Infotrak Research show that President Uhuru Kenyatta remains the most popular presidential candidate.
The poll findings come at a time when both Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga have intensified their campaigns in the country in search for votes.
According to the study, Uhuruโs popularity is at 48 per cent followed by the Oppositionโs National Super Alliance candidate Raila Odinga who was placed at 43 per cent in the approval ratings.
Abduba Dida of the Tunza Coalition was third in the poll findings with a 0.5 percent score, with Ekuru Aukot, Cyrus Jirongo, Joe Nyaga following with a 0.1 percent score each.
The poll bodyโs Chief Executive Officer Angela Ambitho revealed that Kenyans interviewed across 29 counties believe President Kenyatta would still win the elections if they were held today.
โThe findings are from a sample of 2,000 respondents from 29 counties across the country were interviewed between the 24 and 25 of June. The data was collected through household computer-assisted face to face interviews,โ said Angela.
At the same time, the pollโs body CEO pointed out that the findings indicated that 50 per cent of the respondents believe that the country is headed in the wrong direction while 45 percent think Kenya is headed in the right direction and four percent donโt know
