The body of the Kenyan medic who was brutally murdered in Germany was set to arrive in the country yesteray ahead of the burial on Friday in Naivasha.
This comes three weeks after the 27-year-old Mary Waithera was found murdered in her shop in Essen town in Germany.
The deceased who had worked the Germany for over eight years was allegedly murdered by a Tanzania friend who has since gone into hiding.Police have released the photo of the suspect.
According to Waitheraโs younger brother Samuel Njuguna, the family through the assistance of friends, managed to raise the money to fly the body back home.
Speaking in his Kayole home in Naivasha, Njuguna said it is most painful period for the family.
Decent burial
โThe body will arrive at JKIA on Tuesday night and we have made plans to transfer it to a private mortuary ahead of the burial in Kinamba village on Friday,โ he said.
Njuguna thanked the Kenyan and Germany embassies for the support they have given so that they can give his sister a decent burial.
โPolice told us the suspect is still at large but they have exuded confidence itโs a matter of time before they catch up with him,โ he said.
Family spokesman Simon Wanyoike said they held a mini-harambee held last week.
Wanyoike expressed concern over the number of Kenyans who had been killed abroad.
โI was among those who participated in a harambee to raise funds to send Waithera to Germany. Itโs painful we are now going to receive her lifeless body,โ he said.
Naivasha MP Jane Kihara is hopeful the suspect will be arrested. She said, โThere is nothing as painful as a parent sending a child abroad onlt to be called to collect their body.โ
