MCA Anne Thumbi Opens Up About Love Affair with Ken Okoth

MCA Anne Thumbi Opens Up About Love Affair with Ken Okoth: Nairobi nominated member of county assembly Anne Muthoni Thumbi has finally told how she and the late Kibra MP Ken Okoth met and related for the past 6 years.

According to Anita, she and the legislator met in 2013 when she worked at Aga Khan Hospital and was a part of the Sonko Rescue Team.

Ken immediately took to Anita and asked her out on dates. It is around the same time that he sought to become the Kibra MP.

He and Anita held strategy meetings and spent a lot of time knocking on peoples doors. He won the 2013 election but did not want to leave her behind. Using his political connections, he had the young lady, then in her early 20s nominated to the county assembly.

Fast forward to 2015, the couple was blessed with a son, now four years old, and named him Jayden Baraka Okoth.

Speaking to the Nation, the ward representative said that after their son’s arrival, Ken was always there for them and was “So loving and always positive about life.”

So present was he in his son’s life that he bought the boy his first bicycle and was up to date with the goings on in his life.

“Being keen on education, he always asked how Jayden was doing in school and whenever he could he would check on his progress with the teachers,” she said.

Now at the school going age, the deceased lawmaker ensured that his son was well taken care off and his school fees always paid on time. But his death leaves the child’s future in limbo.

Ken’s family has since denied knowledge of the child even as photos doing rounds on social media show the boy with his paternal grandmother, Ms Angeline Ajwang’.

Their actions caused Anita to take legal action and on Thursday during the departed’s memorial service, the High Court stopped the late MP’s mother, and wife, Monica Okoth, from having his remains buried, cremated or interfered with.

“An interim temporary injunction be and is hereby issued restraining the two either by themselves, their servants or agents from conducting the burial, interment, cremation or any other manner whatsoever to dispose of Mr Okoth’s remains,” said Magistrate Grace Mmasi.

Through her lawyer, Elkana Mogaka, Anita wants an order issued against the estate of the deceased, requesting for an immediate payment of the minor’s school fees.

She also wants her son included in all burial arrangements, rituals and traditions related to his father’s final send-off.

Ken Okoth succumbed to cancer on July 26 at the Nairobi Hospital.
