Journalist Linus Kaikai has forgiven Pastor James Maina Ng’ang’a of Neno Evangelism Church Nairobi for the threats he made against his life in March this year.
This comes after Pastor Ng’ang’a apologized to the journalist for the remarks he made before Chief Magistrate Patricia Gichohi at the Kiambu Law Courts.
“Nimemwomba msamaha Mr. Kaikai kama alikasirika na hilo jambo, sikumaanisha hivyo, sorry for that… (I have asked for forgiveness from Mr. Kaikai if he got mad over that issue, I did not mean it that way,” said Pastor Ng’ang’a.
Linus Kaikai said he has accepted the apology and decided to bury the hatchet.
“I have today forgiven Pastor James Ng’ang’a of Neno Evangelism for the threats to life he directed at me in March this year. Pastor Ng’ang’a apologized to me before Chief Magistrate Patricia Gichohi at the Kiambu Law Courts and I accepted the apology,” said Linus.

In March 2019, the Nairobi pastor was arrested after he posted a video on his Facebook page attacking Kaikai over the remarks he made on live TV.
Kaikai had suggested that pastors required academic qualifications and certificate of good conduct to run a church.
“Now on my Kicker tonight, I think it is time to regulate religious organizations especially the so-called ‘churches’. Former Attorney General, Githu Mwigai, proposed regulations that among other rules required preachers to submit certificates of good conduct and their Theological training certificates so as to be licensed to run churches. This are the rules Kenya, must revisit in order to restore sanity in the preaching enterprise they call it”, said Kaikai.
In return, Pastor Ng’ang’a made threats against the journalist that saw the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) put him behind bars.
“Please separate preaching na hizo sarakasi za news anchor. Separate, nakuambia tu kijana. I’m telling you like a Chief General Commander, you have to stop that. Kama umeingia line ya Ng’ang’a, my friend you will face the consequences. I can’t hide you but you can hide me. Wewe utakimbia tu” Said Pastor Ng’ang’a in the viral video.
