I have always said that one of the most challenging thing one will ever face when they relocate to USA on a non-immigrant visa is to acquire permanent residency. Very many people in our community do not hold the right immigration documents because of how challenging this process can be, especially if one does not get the right advice.
The US government offers 140,000 employment-based green cards every year, and unsurprisingly majority of those go to Asians especially Indians. What I have noticed though is that many Africans never pursue them even though they have the right qualifications. I acquired my permanent residency through employment and I can honestly tell you that it is a very straight forward process as long as you have the right skills.
