Ruth Gichuki in serious car accident in Maryland.

Ruth Gichuki,the daughter of Mzee Francis Gichuki of Accokeek Maryland was involved in a serious car accident on Friday February 5th 2010.She was traveling to Laurel on I- 95 North, when her car was hit from the back, forced to spin and turned around. The car was then hit head-on by another car, thown to another car and rolled over several times before coming to a stop in the middle of the busy I-95.
Ruth’s daughter,31/2 years old Grace Ayo was thrown out of the car when it was rolling over to the middle of the highway but by the grace of God, cars stopped before running over her. A total of 5 cars were involved in the accident which caused a major traffic jam that lasted for several hours.
Grace Ayo was taken to Children’s Hospital in Washington DC while Ruth was taken to University of Maryland Shock and Trauma center in Baltimore.
According to her sister Mary Gachuki, Ruth fractured her femur and pelvis bones. Doctors have done surgery on all the fractures and she is waiting healing while undergoing rehab at the shock and trauma center. The baby miraculously was not injured and was discharged few days later after all the test came back negative. She did not even have bruises which was a shock to many people who saw the pile up and the damage to all the cars involved.
