Farova Developmental Initiative was founded in 2009 by one of Kenya’s elite and talented player Benard "Benti" Amwai based in Kentucky, USA assisted by Charles Muiruri and Felix Makachia. Farova Developmental Initiative is comprised of individuals who have concern for the youth who for many years have been considered "leaders of tomorrow." John Odhiambo is the Chief Coordinator he over-sees the progress on the ground in Nairobi, Kenya.
After Benard’s sophomore year at Western Kentucky University, he made a trip back home (Kenya) and realized that most of his childhood friends took a different path in life from the one he did. They were a danger to the community by their involvement in gangs, crime, drugs, and robbing fellow citizens in the streets. This struck "Benti" who saw a need to engage and help rescue the community. He talked to his friend Felix "Felo" Makachia about the idea of supporting the youth and nurturing soccer talents that in most cases go wasted in the streets of Nairobi.
Due to unparalleled love for football in Kenya "Benti" and Felix have used it to bring the community closer. At the moment Farova is comprised of very supportive and dedicated individuals, who have created a positive impact to saving lives in Nairobi streets while spreading to other parts of Kenya.
