Video: Only in Kenya-Rent-an-MP for Sh30,000, price for saving Kimunya
It is emerging That Ikolomani Member Of Parliament Boni Khalwale may have rubbed colleagues the wrong way over allegations that MPs were bribed to kill the Public Accounts Committee report on De La Rue. The report had recommended the sacking of Transport Minister Amos Kimunya and CBK Governor Njuguna Ndungu, over their alleged roles in the loss of 1.8 billion in irregular tendering to money printing firm de la rue. MPs from both sides of the divide ganged up to reprimand the MP, and the powers and privileges committee has been tasked to look into his claim that MP’s received just 30,000 shillings for their votes. And as John Allan-Namu reports, some say, Khalwale may not have been that far off the mark.
