A wedding ceremony at Kiamwathi PCEA Church in Nyeri town was almost called off at the last minute as drama unfolded when a woman stormed the church, seeking to stop the ceremony on grounds that the groom was her matrimonial husband. Polly Njeri claims to have been married to Joseph Nderitu who was the groom at the wedding, and that the two had sired three children. It took the intervention of several strong men to restrain the woman, as the bride and groom finally exchanged their marriage vows.

Ten Members of Parliament allied to Eldoret North William Rutoโ€™s party United Republican Party (URP) have threatened to walk out ofย  the party if he joins Orange Democratic Movement.

Led by Cheranganyi MP Joshua Kuttuny, theย  MPs dared their party leader to make a slight move,ย  saying their will join Uhuruโ€™s party The National Alliance (TNA) if he forms aย  pre- election pact with Prime Minister ย Raila Odinga.

The MPs said Ruto will be a traitor of the Kalenjin community if he returns to the Orange Party.

They said they will make a major announcement soon, if Ruto does not apologise to the community for meeting Raila Odinga secretly without their consent.

Other MPs who expressed disappointment with Rutoโ€™s move are Zachary Cheruiyot (Kuresoi), Moses Lessonet (Eldama Ravine), Charles Keter (Belgut) and Eldoret South lawmaker Peris Simam.

Hereโ€™s a clip of the DP making the Mutunga statement.

If thereโ€™s anything we learnt from Deputy President William Rutoโ€™s interview with Hussein Mohammed on Tuesday, itโ€™s that he is very good at giving punchlines and sideshows to avoid answering questions directly. Iโ€™m not sure ifย it comes out naturally or whether he actually rehearses for it.

When asked by Hussein whether he has a problem with IEBC as presently constituted, Ruto dropped a huge punchline, completely unrelated.

โ€œPersonally I have a son who is a lawyer. I have a serious issue with my Chief Justice having an earring. But I havenโ€™t organized a demonstration.โ€

He used similar diversionary tactics when answering questions on Jacob Juma. Hereโ€™s a clip of the DP making the Mutunga statement.
