Two people are set to be charged in court for distributing leaflets depicting a leading presidential candidate in bad light.
Central police boss Robinson Mboloi said police retrieved the leaflets on Haile Selassie Avenue and Uhuru Highway in Nairobi last night.
Police have traced the printing of the anti-Raila Odinga leaflets toย a warehouse in River Road.
“We arrested a man who had in his possession a number of leaflets and will be taking him to court on hate speech related charges,โ the officer said on phone. Another man was also arrested in Kilimani, Nairobi.
He said the police were aware of several leaflets that had been dumped around the city centre and had launched investigations.
“There are a number of leaflets within the CBD we recovered those talking about Triton, Molasses and the Cord alliance,โ Mr Mboloi said.
He said it was criminal to print and distribute literature that may fan negative emotions.
The leaflets depict Mr Odinga and his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka talking at cross purposes.
