Word of the Day:What skill do you have?
When a person has the ability to do something really well and are deemed as experts then they are skillful in their work. However skill without excellence lowers the standards of ones’ output which always needs to be top notch. Someone once said excellence is never an accident rather it’s the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction, skillful execution and the vision to see obstacles as opportunities.
We gain skills from other’s who are experts in certain fields or the skill you have can be a gift as you are able to do it effortlessly. God is the giver of our skills and talent so he requires us to use them wisely and for the furtherance of the kingdom of God. Therefore, we need to be good stewards of every skill and talents we have.
When you look at yourself, where are your strengths most eminent? It could be leadership, organization, carpentry, cooking the list is endless. Whatever it is, you need to improve yourself on a daily basis and never let your skills become dormant. Always add more knowledge to your skills and do not slacken in growing at whatever you are skilled in. As King Solomon said, a skilled man in his work will serve before great men and not ordinary men.
“Do you see a man skilled in his work? He will serve before kings; he will not serve before obscure men.’”
