But first, it’s been a disappointing week for the women’s movement in the country and in particular an unacceptable week for the county of Nairobi as its leader’s senator Mike Sonko and Governor Evans Kidero displayed their nasty and possibly criminal streak in their approach to women. Kidero was caught on camera slapping the Nairobi women’s representative Rachel Shebesh. And his response to the incident has been bizarre. First came the denial, then the victim card. Kidero now claims he was assaulted around his stomach.
