Late last year, Machakos county government set aside 50 acres of land in its new Machakos City for the new Machakos Entertainment Centre for Film, Media, Music and the Arts (Machawood) initiative, whose allocation was Sh60 million for its start-up operations.
The project was fruitful as Machawood entertainment on Saturday night launched its first film entitled ‘Love and Deceit’ during a very colorful ceremony at People’s Park.
The film which was shot in both Kenya and the US has its theme revolving round long time buddies caught up in a romantic tangle.
In attendance at the ceremony was Machakos County minister for Tourism and Culture Faith Wathome, Machawood chairman Peter Mutie and Riverwood boss Mwaniki Mageria among others.
