A Kenyan citizen was arrested in Cebu City on Tuesday over allegations he raped a 22-year-old woman on Monday, police said.
Police said the alleged rape occurred in the house of the suspect, identified as Eliud Kimplimo Leilei, 23, in Barangay Banilad, GMA Cebu’s Bexmae Jumao-as reported Wednesday.
The police said the victim reported the incident and sought assistance.
Leilei was arrested in an operation Tuesday night on Governor Cuenco Avenue. He now faces charges of rape. He did not face the media, the report said.
The report said Leilei was active in fun run events in Cebu.
It added he had been accused of rape at least once before, but the complainant at the time withdrew her complaint against him.
