Area public health officer Oliver Walutila saidย there is need to increase milk production in Butere โso that fathers can leave mothersโ milk to their childrenโ.
“In a scenario where men compete with their children to breastfeed, the children end up being malnourished,โ he said.
Walutila said that mothers in Butere breastfeed their children on one breast and spare the other for their husbands.
He was addressing women groups at Musunguri Church on Saturday.
The women were given dairy goats by the Kenya Economic Youth Network.
