Former Speaker of the National Assembly Kenneth Marende was today, Monday, elected the Chairman of the Board of the Kenya Power Board.
Marende is the twenty-fifth Chairman of the board in the Company’s 94 year history.
Marende succeeds Eliazar Ochola who served a four year term as Chairman of the country’s national power distributor.
Marende was elected to the Board by the Company’s shareholders during an annual general meeting in December 2014.
Marende is a lawyer by profession and was elected as Speaker of the National Assembly in the 2008 Grand Coalition government.
