The mark of maturity is the ability to stand alone. To be mature is to declare free from dependency upon those who guide the young into manhood or girlhood.
Within our traditional culture, we circumcised boys as a sign that they have been approved by the clan as having reached a point where they can be depended upon to make decisions and actuate those decisions independent of parents.
This however did not mean that parents did not have a role to play of advising them, rather, it meant, they have understood themselves and the meaning of their lives, cultures, traditions, obligations and duties. It is then that they were allowed to marry given that marriage means responsibility.
Uhuru Kenyatta stood up next to president Barack Obama of the United States, not as a un-circumcised junior, but as a man representing a legitimate republic with dignity and rights of its own.
This is reflected in his response to Obama’s call for gay rights! It is this standing that is being applauded all over the world by those who know that a man is a man and a woman is a woman: that no matter how paganism defines love, their is a natural and spiritual definition that is supported by mathematics and which stands absolute.
To this end then, Uhuru Kenyatta is being applauded as a circumcised man leading a circumcised nation. It is this maturity that Franklin Graham applauds!

Rev. Graham: USA ‘Now Exporting The Acceptance of Immorality Via Our President’
In reference to President Barack Obama’s trip to Kenya where, during a press conference he expressed support for gay rights and equated legal restrictions on homosexuality to Jim Crow laws and slavery, Reverend Franklin Graham said the United Statesย was “now exporting the acceptance of immorality” through Obama.
“While visiting Kenya, Barack Obama publicly lectured Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta about gay rights yesterday [July 25],” said Rev. Graham in a July 26 post on Facebook.
“I didnโt know that we were sending our president halfway around the world to promote the gay & lesbian agenda!” he said.
“Samaritan’s Purseย has an office in Kenya and has worked there many years, and I can tell you that the churches in Kenya know what the Bible says about homosexuality —ย it is a sin,” continued Rev. Graham. “Sin should not be embraced, but recognized truthfully for what it is and for its serious consequences.”
“Godโs Word says, ‘the wages of sin is death,'” said Rev. Graham.ย ย “Thankfully though, sin does have a remedy —ย forgiveness is available through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.”
“As a world leader, the United States of America is now exporting the acceptance of immorality via our president,” said Franklin Graham.ย ย “What will the cost of that be?”
During his July 25 press conference with Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta on Saturday, President Obama was asked about homosexual rights and he, in part,ย said “the state should not discriminate against people based on their sexual orientation.” He then added, “as an African-American in the United States,ย I am painfully aware of the history of what happens when people are treated differently, under the law, and there were all sorts of rationalizations that were provided by the power structure for decades in the United States for segregation and Jim Crow and slavery, and they were wrong.”
For his part, Kenya’s president said his country and the United States share “many values” but “there are some things that we must admit we don’t share — our culture, our societies don’t accept.”
“It is very difficult for us to be able to impose on people that which they themselves do not accept,” said President Kenyatta, whose country’s population is 84% Christian and which has strong laws against homosexual behavior. In fact, 36 of Africa’s 54 states have laws against same-sex acts.
“[T]he fact remains that this [homosexuality] issue is not really an issue that is on the foremost mind of Kenyans, and that is the fact,โ said President Kenyatta.
Franklin Graham, 62, is the son of world-renowned evangelist Billy Graham. ย Franklin Graham is president of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and also runs the international Christian aid group Samaritan’s Purse. Rev. Franklin Graham is married, has five children, and lives in Boone, N.C. ย He regularly preaches in evangelistic crusades in the United States and around the globe.
