US President Barack Obama Complains Over Waiters in Kenya
obama_5A never-seen-before video has emerged showing US President Barack Obama’s experience in Kenya.

The video, which was shot by Obama’s sister Auma Obama, captures the experience of the then little Barack Obama with his then fiance Michelle Obama.

Shot in the early 1990s, Barack was at the time making his second visit to Kenya while at the same time introducing Michelle to his Kenyan family. The two would later wed in 1992.

The video documentary is titled “A Journey In Black and White,” and starts on a light note as the Obamas are taught Luo culture.

However, the highlight of the video starts when the Obamas travel to the Maasai Mara where the tourists are predominantly white.

A youthful Barack complains over the privilege given to the white people in a place where blacks should come first.

“It makes me frustrated to see that blacks in Kenya don’t have more confidence in the possibility of shaping their own fate, and their own destiny,” said Obama.

“I’m deeply saddened by a sense that whites are still superior in this country,” he notes.

He continues: “In some sense that if you sit a restaurant, they’re served before a Kenyan is served. If you go through customs, a white person is going to have an easier time going through customs.”

Auma then takes his American brother to Kariokor where her VW beetle was being repaired by a local mechanic.

Auma, who is the narrator in the documentary, uses the visit to show her brother the industrious nature of Kenyans despite the limited opportunities.

“When I look at a place like Kenya, I think this is a land of great promise. And that the potential for a strong black country is here,” Obama says in reference to the hardworking Kenyans.

The now US President adds: “I think if you can build a strong black country in Kenya, then that sends a message out throughout Africa, it sends a message to black Americans, it sends a message to blacks in the Caribbean.”

During his visit to Kenya last year, the US president’s sister, Auma made reference to the visit reminiscing the day she had picked his now famous brother from the airport using her battered beetle.

At the time, she joked that her brother had returned the favour after President Obama gave her a ride from that same airport in the “Beast,” the armoured limousine that had been shipped from the US.
