First Lady Margaret Kenyattaย on Fridayย received a prestigiousย award by an International company for her role in Beyond Zero campaign.
The Beyond Zero drive was named as the initiative of the year and recognised as the strongest brandย under a special category of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in East Africa.
The First Lady was honoured during the 4th edition of the Superbrands (East Africa) Tribute Awards ceremony held at Villa Rosa Kempinski Hotel, Nairobi.
Mrs Kenyatta, who is the patron of the Campaign, received the special award in appreciation of the initiativeโs tremendous work in improving maternal and child healthcare in Kenya.
The drive emerged top in a night which also saw 52 other heavyweight brands from the region being recognised.
She was hailed for campaigning for maternal and child health and personally runningย grueling marathons locally and abroad to mobilize resources to purchase mobile clinics for all the 47 counties.
The accoladeย was given by Superbrand East Africa, the worldโs largest independent arbiter of branding based in the United Kingdom.
Project Director and Associate Publisher Superbrands East Africa Jawad Jaffer said the branding arbiter was excited to pay tribute to the most valued brands in East Africa payingย tribute to Beyond Zero and its patron.
During the ceremony, Kenyan companiesย dominated the honors list where 32 local brands received recognition compared to 14 from Tanzania and 6 from Uganda.
