Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero and Senator Mike Sonko fired up Twitter after pictures of them having lunch at a Nairobi hotel were uploaded on social media.

The two had what was described as a business lunch at the Intercontinental Hotel. Accompanying them were former Kamukunji MP Simon Mbugua, ODM aspirant in Gem Elisha Odhiambo and Nairobi businessman Stephene Sangira.

The leaders are said to have “discussed ways of working together”.

Sonko is seeking to unseat Dr Kidero in 2017 and the two have engaged in a bitter contest both online and physically.

The pictures of them sharing a meal on Tuesday afternoon inspired a hashtag #KideroSonkoLunch where comments ranged from approval to disapproval and cheekiness.

If this could be copied by other leaders then our country would be far much ahead

Could Sonko be planning to vie for a different seat away from that currently occupied by Kidero
