MP Millie Odhiambo: What is the big deal? I love sex
Mbita MP Millie Odhiambo stunned people on social media when she openly declared her love for sex.
The controversial and outspoken legislator was reacting to an interview gone bad where Esther Passari’s and Miguna Miguna took on each other on live television.
Her post read in part:
“As a woman, I love sex, I enjoy sex, I have sex. You shall not use it as a tool to demean me or another woman. We don’t have sex with spoons, biro pens, cooking sticks, snakes or tables. We have it with men, like you. If I have it with one or many men, I will answer to God, not you. The way you will answer to God for having sex with one woman or more, including your daughter (for the depraved). If you are not ashamed of having sex then stand to be counted, after all, I did not invent sex, neither did you so don’t blame me for it, same way I will not blame you. Proudly woman enjoying my sexuality and proud of it.”
Within seconds, her Facebook post which was loathed and loved in equal measure went viral and began trending on social media platforms. But the controversial and outspoken legislator was not cowed at all by the social media rebuffs and accolades and stood firm by her Facebook post.
The MP was so precise to the point and did not mince her words even as she argued in defence of her statement.
Kevin Ogonda, a psychologist with a passion for sex, argued that a person’s sex, as determined by his or her biology, does not always correspond with their gender.
“So maybe the MP meant her gender,” he said.
“Because honourable Millie was careful not to define the nature of sex, assumptions could mislead those who do not read between the lines,” argued a socio-biologist Millicent Ouma.
