Kenya, Sep 17 โ Property of unknown value was set ablaze by angry boda boda operators in Kaloleni estate in Kisumu.
The riders stormed the estate over claims that known criminals from the area harassed some of their colleagues last night and burnt down two motorcycles.
The operators in their hundreds conducted raids in the estate in an attempt to flush out the โsuspectsโ from their โhideoutsโ.
One of the cyclists Elisha Oringo whose motorcycle was allegedly burnt by the suspects says he was accosted by the โsuspectsโ early morning as he ferried a customer.
The operators allege that most of them have fallen prey to the suspected criminals in Kaloleni area adding that they are well known and should be brought to book.
County Commander Titus Yoma on scene said the fire was contained amidst resistance from the operators adding that they are probing the matter.
However, locals in Kaloleni have decried the destruction and loss occasioned by the operators.
