Nyanza will next month be a beehive of activity as it opens its doors to political foes-turned-friends, President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga.
Odinga, through a tweet, disclosed that he has held a meeting with Nyanza leaders led by Migori Governor Okoth Obado to “brainstorm” on the trip by Uhuru to Nyatike.
Uhuru’s trip to Nyanza will be the first since the 2017 poll and a development following their infamous handshake at the steps of Harambee House.
He disclosed that Tanzanian President John Pombe Magufuli will be part of the high powered delegation to his home turf.
The Orange Democratic Movement chief also added that also on the table, was the planned visit to the region by Former United States of America President Barack Obama on July the 16th.
Accompanying Obama will be TV personality Oprah Winfrey and businessmen who are expected to visit his ancestral home of KOgelo after meeting Uhuru at State House, Nairobi.
According to the Obama Foundation, the former president will make the one day visit before jetting to South Africa.
He will address the 16th Nelson Mandela Annual Lecture in Johannesburg SA.
