VIDEO: DP Ruto Reacts to Uhuru’s Sagana Meeting-Jubilee is United

VIDEO: DP Ruto Reacts to Uhuru’s Sagana Meeting-Jubilee is United. Deputy President William Ruto on Saturday, November 16, asked all Jubilee leaders to heed to President Uhuru Kenyatta’s call to end wrangles in the party.

Speaking during the commissioning of a road in Kipkelion West, Kericho County, the DP stated that the aim of the party was to unite Kenyans.

“We are united in transforming this country. Let us leave behind petty politics of division and ethnicity as guided by the president yesterday.

“The party has a clear direction from the party leader and it is that Jubilee is united and those who have gone to other parties, should make their stand clear because Kenya is a democratic country,” he remarked.

He went on to warn the opposition to keep off Jubilee affairs and instead, focus on cleaning the mess in their own political outfits.

“We do not want to be supervised by characters who have no agenda, selfish individuals who are looking for their own interests, who want to destroy our country. We want to move together,” he alerted.

On Friday, November 15, during the Mt Kenya leaders meeting at Sagana State Lodge, the president cautioned the leaders present about the dangers of the political paths that they were taking.

“I want to take you back to 2007 up to where we are today. You know the problems we had. Some of you here are still very bitter about what happened,” he spoke.

He castigated the leaders for playing politics at a time when the government’s sole agenda was development.

“Our work as leaders is to find solutions to issues facing our people. But I never hear some of these leaders speak about these issues. All I hear is vile exchanges. I wonder, when shall we work for our people?” he questioned.

The essence of the meeting was to allay fears from leaders in the region that Uhuru had sidelined them ever since his handshake with ODM leader Raila Odinga, which left the political equation in limbo.
