NAIROBI, Kenya — The family of Eric Maina has announced with deep sorrow the passing of their beloved relative in Nairobi, Kenya, prompting an outpouring of condolences and support from family and friends both in Kenya and across the Kenyan diaspora in the United States.
Eric Maina was a cherished member of a large and closely connected family. He was the brother of Rev. George Kariuki and Martin Wanjohi, and the brother of Margaret Wanjiku, all of Kenya. He was also the brother-in-law of Rev. Winnie Kariuki.
Within the Kenyan diaspora community in the United States, Eric Maina was a beloved uncle to Judith Kariuki and Jessica Kariuki of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Anthony Maina of Burlington, North Carolina. He was also a cousin to Alice Maina of Raleigh, NC and an uncle to many other relatives and loved ones.
Family members say Eric will be remembered for his kindness, strong family bonds, and the impact he had on those who knew him.
