Jicho Pevu Mohamed Ali Responds To Calls For His Sacking

Moments after being bashed by Kenyans for his hard-hitting opinionย piece on the Jubilee government, investigative journalistย Mohammed Ali came out to respond to his critics.

The reporter took to his Facebook timeline to dismiss his haters saying that he would not relent from correcting the government on supposed wrong doings.

โ€œ36 bloggers are you done with ur UTOTO hashtag ama ningoje mchoke. Nataka ku – post article ya pili iwaguse ndipo tena โ€ช#โ€ŽKifoChaMende,โ€ฌโ€ he posted.

Mr Ali was criticized after he posted a piece: Kifo cha mende cha isubiri Jubilee (The death of a cockroach awaits Jubilee) which was deemedย too political and critical onย the government.

He went ahead to hit the government raising issues of electoral malpractices, discrimination, failure to fulfill campaign pledges, andย violation of the constitution.

The articleย elicited mixed reactions with those bashing him feeling that such hard-line politics were jeopardizing his objectivity as a journalist, therefore asking for his dismissal.

The journalist had earlier on been linked to eying theย Nyaliย Parliamentaryย seat in the 2017 General Election, on an ODM party ticket.

However, he clarified the claims to Kenyans.co.ke saying:ย โ€œI am currently a journalist, but if the right time comes to join politics, why not?โ€
