Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk”. (Acts 3:6)
Are you sure you know what you are lacking in your life today? Do you really knowย ย your very deepest need? God amazes me every day.
There are moments in your Christian walk I believe you pause and just get excited about the Lord. One of the things that really can make us secure in Him is the knowledge that He knows us better than anyone on this earth.
But it’s easier to capitalize, major or zero in a given need, desire or want, fully convinced that that if that need was met then our problems will be solved. However, if we checked with God, he would point our need as something else.
In Acts 3 we read the story of this man who was born lame. All he knew was to beg, but begging was not his profession. What really made him beg was his physical condition.
Nonetheless, on this particular day, his daily normal routine was rudely. First, he approached the Apostle Peter just like he would anyone, not knowing that this was his last day of being lame.
It was his last day to be carried from one place to the other and of depending on others. It was a new day for him too because he really discovered that what he always thought he needed was not really his prominent or fundamental need.
He needed something that he never thought of or even imagined. You can conclude that Ephesians 3:20 was his scripture of the day, “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us” .
This man had settled and had come into terms with his in situation; he had tried to add flavor to it by begging.
This tells us that even when the devil imprisons us illegally by situations or circumstances, the Father’s love always responds by delivering us.
Your need or trouble has an expiration date attached to it; just like this man, God wants to set you free.
But wait! This man had to cooperate with the demands of Peter. “Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, “Look at us!”ย So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them” (Acts 3: 4, 5).
The distance between your need and your miracle is hidden in cooperating with the Holy Spirit. It is hidden in your response to the requirement set in the word of God regarding your need.
Many a times the Holy Spirit wants to meet our needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus, but we are too busy to pay attention. “He says be still and know that I AM God”.
He is God over your situation, and over that what is causing fear, pain, disappointment, despair, chaos, confusion or even death.
Are you facing a situation in your life where the enemy has told you all lies on how impossible it is to get out of it? Maybe he has led you to believe it is your way of life.
He said it runs in your family, it is in the air, it comes with age. Is the devil using your current situation to torture you, ridicule you or even, making you to give up in life? Do not allow his deception to rule your life, rise and look up unto the Lord, from whom your help comes from.
The word of God was written and spoken to meet every need you might have today.ย “The grass around you will wither and the flowers fall, every man/woman, standing for you or against will one day be moved away , the hills and the valleys might one day disappear, but the word of our God stands forever.” (see, Isaiah 40:8) Peter 1:1:25 says, “but the word of the Lord stands forever.”
And this is the word that was preached to you” All man’s promises to you might never, never be fulfilled, but the Lord’s promises to you are sure to come to pass.
If you meet the specified conditions in his word, in short if you have been made righteous by the faith in Christ Jesus and are truly living a life that expresses your faith in him, here is what He says, “As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:10-11)
As I write about the faithfulness of God I am reminded how God is Jealous over you as His child who has been blood-bought and blood-washed, by the blood of his son Jesus Christ.
He wants to protect you and shield you. It is not the will of God that the judgment due to the wicked should come upon the righteous.
“Then Abraham approached him and said: “Will you sweep away the righteous with the wicked? The LORD said, “If I find fifty righteous people in the city of Sodom, I will spare the whole place for their sake.”
What if the number of the righteous is five less than fifty? Will you destroy the whole city because of five people?” “If I find forty-five there,” he said, “I will not destroy it.”(Genesis 18:23, 26, 28) How important it is for you to get this principle. Also, consider Psalm 1:4-6; Psalm 91:7, 8.
The psalmist gives this promise to the believer, “The Lord God almighty has always put a difference between the wicked and his people”.
He did it in Egypt. “…but among the Israelites not a dog will bark at any man or animal.’ Then you will know that the LORD makes a distinction between Egypt and Israel”. (Exodus 11:7)
The man in Acts 3 did not know all that the Lord had in store for him, but he saw God’s faithfulness. God is always working behind the scenes to expose the lies of the enemy, so you can enjoy His goodness in the land of the living.
