Word of the Day:Struggles that define

It is our struggles that define us. Think of some of the heroes of the faith: God asked Abram to move from his well-known land to a totally strange land. He struggled and moved, the walk was by faith and not by sight. God changed his name from Abram to Abraham, now he is known as the father of three religions, Christianity, Islam and Judaism.

Joseph was sold by his brother into slavery, a struggle of ultimate betrayal. God rewarded him and he became Egypt’s second in command, and when his brothers came for help, he didn’t hesitate to assist. Daniel, a true worshipper of God, was thrown into a den of lions; he survived and lived to tell the tale. Naomi, a widow, was struggling for her survival and that of her daughter-in-law. She returned to Bethlehem, where she gained her economic survival, a precious relationship with Ruth, a new son-in-law and a new grandchild, in the messianic language. The examples of heroes of faith and their struggles in the Bible are countless.
