Mudavadi calls Kalonzo a ‘tortured soul’

NAIROBI, Kenya, Dec 1 – The Amani Coalition leader Musalia Mudavadi has asked former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka not to transfer his frustration after the March 4 election loss to him.

Mudavadi said it has now become fashionable for some politicians with failed ambitions to excuse and transfer their weaknesses by blaming him.

He said nothing stopped Kalonzo from contesting presidential elections but he chose to play second fiddle and ride on the shoulder of Raila Odina.

Mudavadi said he could not have been Kalonzo’s enemy when the former VP approached him for a joint ticket but later surfaced as Odinga’s running mate.

“If my memory serves me right, the former VP is reversing history. He walked out of the G7 voluntarily after failing to negotiate a position. I was never a member of G7”, he said.

“He made his bed, let him sleep on it,” he said while addressing a homecoming party of UDF MCA Jackson Swadi for Kabwareng, Aldai in Nandi County.

“I doubt he is being sincere with himself. His Achilles Heel is inability to explain to Kenyans how he became VP if he knew elections were rigged in 2007. He ought to be ashamed for the betrayal rather than turning aggression on me”, the former Deputy Prime Minister said.

Mudavadi was reacting to an interview in a Sunday paper where the former VP said he was undermined in preference to Mudavadi by Mwai Kibaki’s allies.

“He seems to be a tortured soul. You almost feel pity for a man who is perennially in denial. But sulking is not leadership”, said the Amani leader.

Mudavadi has recently launched a bare-knuckled tirade on CORD leaders. He recently told off Odinga for criticizing his close relationship with the Jubilee government.

“I remind Raila that he is conspicuous in embracing political cooperation deals with successive regimes and therefore has no moral ground to scold others. Whichever revisionist name maybe fashionable to Raila, NDP/ KANU, LDP/NAK, ODM/PNU under the National Accord and Cord are all forms of cooperation.”

“Nonetheless, nobody appointed Raila to prefect and to police other political parties on how to conduct their business,” he stated.

“Deceit and doublespeak is not attractive to me; Raila welcomes President Uhuru Kenyatta in Nyanza with open arms, but tells the people of Bungoma not to work with government. Is there a Kenyatta government for Raila and a Raila colony for the Bungoma people?” he posed.capitalfm.co.ke
