Over 10 Kenyan Women MPs had a dinner with Mayor Elizabeth Kangethe in London on Wednesday 11th June, 2014. The MPs who are in London attending the Commonwealth Women Parliamentary Conference at the House of Commons London,took time off to celebrate Mayor Kangethe’s who is making a mark in London.
Shouting and dancing for their own, the MPs welcomed the mayor with flowers and dances as they congratulated her for showing women power in action.
“You have made us proud, a woman mayor in London. Congratulations your honour. We felt that we cannot go home without seeing you. What can we say: God bless you.” the MPs shouted as they took to the floor for a dance including mugiithi and mwana mbili.
They all took photos with the mayor and they encouraged her to standing strong in this field of male dominated fields. The one week conference ends on Friday 13th June and the MPs are going back to Kenya on Sunday.
