CHRISTIAN RADIO STATION HOPE FM FREQUENCY ‘HIJACKED’
Listeners said the radio went off air for few minutes, before it started airing Islamic prayers.
The radio went off air from 11pm.
A government cybercrime expert, who is not authorized to speak to the press, confirmed that the frequency had indeed been compromised.
“It’s been hijacked and they are playing their own content on the station,” he said, adding that it was not a frequency overlap.
The station’s managers could not be reached on the studio lines for a comment.
The station has since returned on air.
Kenyan websites have lately been targeted by cyber criminals reflecting the rising trend of global cyber-attacks.
