Despite the loss, JAP gained more foot in Kajiado Central than CORD compared to 2013

Let us do some political Math, in 2013 when current Cabinet Secretary for Interior Joseph Nkaissery vied for the Kajiado Central Constituency seat on an ODM ticket,he got 17,332 votes against his closest challenger Patrick Tutui of TNA who garnered 8,456 votes.

Others were Elijah Kenchory of KNC (7,565), Stephen Lukeine of URP (2,856).

Therefore, Out of a total votes of 36,209cast in 2013 in the constituency:

Cord garnered= 47.86%

Jubilee garnered= 23.35%

Fast forward into 2015, the recently held by-election that has earned Elijah Memusi a seat in parliament.

Elijah Memusi of ODM garnered 16,008 votes to trounce JAP’s Patrick Tutui who came second with 15,508 votes. An independent candidate, Mr Kuntai Nkashuma, was a distant third with 100 votes.

Therefore, Out of a total votes of 31,616 cast in the 2015 by-election in the constituency:

Cord garnered= 50.63%

Jubilee garnered= 49.05%

 

These numbers tell a very serious story. The Jubilee Alliance Party gained half the ground. This trend is very encouraging to JAP.
