Seven suspects linked to the killing of Kabete MP George Muchai and his bodyguards denied murder charges on Thursday.
Eric Isabwa, Raphael Gachie, Mustafa Anyonyi, Steven Lipopo, Simon Gichamba, Jane Kamau, Margaret Wachiuri, were remanded to Industrial Area and Lang’ata Womens prisons.
The prosecution objected their bond application set for April 27 saying they were a flight risk.
The suspects did not plea to the murder charges on Friday last week as six of them lacked legal representation.
They however denied ten counts of robbery with violence before Senior magistrate Enock Cherono.
They denied that they were hired assassins, saying they were on a robbery mission and only took interest in the MP’s car when it stopped near them.
The bail application for the robbery charges was set for March 23.
Muchai, his driver and two bodyguards were murdered on February 7 when attackers intercepted his car at Kenyatta Avenue roundabout, Nairobi and opened fire.
The case will be heard between November 23 to December 17.
