President Uhuru Kenyatta has warned politicians to cease making inciting statements to the public.
Speaking at a public function on Friday, President Kenyatta urged the politicians to instead concentrate on their core responsibilities of nation building initiating development projects.
โIf you are a member of Parliament, what your electorate expects from you is to cater for their interests and spread development, you have CDF (Constituency Development Fund), use it appropriately instead of inciting Kenyans here and there,โ the President said.
Kenyattaโs comments comes in the wake of controversial comments by Gatundu South Constituency Member or Parliament Moses Kuria.
NYS PROJECT
The controversial politician is said to have uttered the following words at a public forum mostly consisting youths:
โThat is why I asked you to come with our pangas. And those pangas are not for clearing bushes. Use them to slash those opposed to the NYS project.โ
The video ofย Kuriaโs sentiments later went viral on social media causing public outrage.
The Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko, National Cohesion and Integration Commission, alongside the National Alliance Party (TNA), are amongst the institutions that have since taken up this matter for investigations.
