Police are in possession of two birth certificates issued in Thika and Mombasa on January 26, 1998 and January 5, 1990 respectively.
According to the first birth certificate, the woman was born on December 25, 1989 at the Mombasa Hospital, and shortly thereafter, the mother was issued with the document.
DOUBLE REGISTRATION
The certificate, issued by the registrar, Mr S N Charo, indicated a soldier, a Mr Ndichu, and Ms Nina Maria Wanjiku Straulino as the father and mother.
At the time of the birth, the mother was 32.
The second birth certificate, number 300868, is signed by a Mr G K Munyoroku and was issued on January 26, 1998.
The date of birth, however, remains the same, but the certificate indicates that the woman was born at Kinyangi, Kakuzi, in Thika.
The father is indicated as Mr Johnson Nduya Muthama and the mother as Nina Maria Wanjiku.
Investigators, however, said they did not find any records on this certificate in Thika.
