VIDEO: KENYANS CANโT GET ENOUGH OF ROSE NASIMIYUโS BRITISH ACCENT
A young, graceful and valiant girl who warmedย heartsย after publicly announcing that she had cancer five years ago, returned to the country this week from England where she had sought treatment.
Princess Rose Nasimiyu left the country in 2012, a year after she had been diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma.
Hodgkinโs lymphoma is a cancer of lymph tissue found in the lymph nodes, spleen, liver, bone marrow, and other sites.
Ms Nasimiyu was initially treated locally and underwentย tedious and painful chemotherapy sessions that left her frail. Her mother,ย Phoebe Wekesa, eventually sought help from Kenyans through the Africa Cancer Foundation.
The appeal attracted enough donations and the two flew to the United Kingdom for further treatment alongside her step father.
Four years later, and Ms Nasimiyu jetted back into the country and in her Thursday interview with KTNโs Jeff Koinange, she thanked Kenyans for the donations that made her treatment possible.
Kenyans on social media were however mesmerized by the 14-year-oldโs transformation and especially her acquired accent.
Mr Koinange during the interview asked her about the accent to whichย Ms Nasimiyu responded: โPeople keep telling me Iโve got American accentโฆbut then when I come here they say Iโve got British accent so I donโt know where I am.โ
