Majority leader in the National Assembly Aden Duale on Thursday called on the House to ban female politicians from wearing indecently during parliament sessions.
The Garissa Town Member of Parliament said that the House should be respected and Parliamentโs decorum protected.ย He said this as he noted that some female politicians wore tight trousers to sittings.
Duale threatened toย file a motion on how some women dressed in the house citing โlack of decorum.โ
โMr Speaker, in the chamber, there is a semi-order on decorum. Very soon Mr Speaker, in fact from this afternoon, I will be rising on a point of order. There are some women members of Parliament, their dress is not in line with thisโฆMr Speaker, today we will talk to them but tomorrow we will say, no, you donโt wear tight trouserโฆ.and you know ladies, this House has respect. Let us protect the decorum of the House,โ said Duale.
He added: โif it goes on, I will file a motion, over the same. Some of the woman MPs wear very tight trousers and clothes.โ
