Hailed for his flamboyance, former Kiambu governor William Kabogo is one of Kenya’s wealthiest and equally most controversial politicians.
The Punjab University graduate attributes his wealth to business. He is involved in supplying supermarket commodities, importing goods, clearing and forwarding among other businesses.
Asked about the source of his wealth on NTV, Kabogo said “I work. I am a businessman, I build houses and I have done that for many years. I am an international businessman. I build houses, supply supermarket commodities, imports, clearing and forwarding, I own a chain of companies and that to me is hard work and I believe in working. I enjoy doing business even though it’s difficult to do business and politics at the same time, one has to suffer.”
And it is these businesses which have afforded him the extremely lavish lifestyle he now enjoys. The former Kiambu governor owns 2 choppers, a sports bike worth around Sh2 million, a Jaguar XKR worth Sh15 million among other vehicles. He also owns a posh home in some of Kenya’s prime areas, Nyali in Mombasa and Windsor in Kiambu County.

His son Alvin Kabogo gave fans a look at his father’s expansive compound at Windsor. The house overlooks a dam, has a Jacuzzi and a pool, a gazebo and a landing pad for the choppers among other amenities.
