“The county is delighted to host the former United States leader and son of Kogelo,” he said during a Press briefing on Wednesday.

He urged the business community to take advantage of the visit adding that Kisumu has immense opportunities for investment.

It is expected that President Obama will have a short meeting with Kisumu Governor Peter Anyang’ Nyongo at the airport before he heads to Kogelo.

The former U.S. President will be opening a youth resource center set up by Sauti Kuu Foundation.

The organisation, founded by his sister Dr. Auma Obama, works with disadvantaged children and youth to help them develop life skills.

Kisumu Tourism CEC Achie Alai said residents will be able to watch the event beamed live at the Jomo Kenyatta Sports Ground.
