Ruto was accompanied by several leaders from Bomet and Kericho counties, in what is being touted as a push to secure the power vacancy in Bomet County, following the passing of former governor, Joyce Laboso.

The leaders present were a former ministerย Frankline Bett Paul Sang and one-time Internal security PS Zakayo Cheruiyot.

Political analysts pegged down the main agenda of the meeting as, securing a political seatย in Bomet as well as mapping possible 2022 scenarios.

Raila’s ODM party affirmed that the meeting took place, via a statement shared on all its official media platforms.

“Raila Odinga today held a meeting with Leaders from Bomet and Kericho counties led by former governor Isaac Ruto at Capitol Hill Square,” read an excerpt of the party’s official statement.

On his part, the former Bomet governor remained shady in regards to the details of the meeting, maintaining that it was just a sit-down meant to converse on an array of issues.

“Today we held a consultative meeting with a few leaders in Nairobi,” Ruto disclosed.

However, with the Bomet Deputy Governor, Hillary Barchok, reportedly set to be sworn in on Thursday to officially take over the county’s leadership, many opined that this was most likely the centre of theย discussions at Capitol Hill.
