Update for Kenyan man Geoffrey Chepkwony found dead in Houston TX
The body of Geoffrey Chepkwony who was found dead in Houston Texas is still at the Medical examiners office but there is good progress to collect the body and hopefully repatriate it back to Kenya.
Plans are underway for the former roommate Sam Mayaka to get Power of attorney from the mother in Kenya so that he can get the body released to him. Also,the Kenyan community in Houston has already put planes together to raise money for the purpose of sending Geoffrey’s body back home to his family.
According to Dan Mugubi, one of the Kenyan community leaders in Houston,they are waiting for the Power of Attorney and direction from the family in Kenya so that they can start the fundraising.
Geoffrey was found dead on Saturday August 29th in the bayou at 49 San Jacinto Street Houston, Texas. It is alleged that he was suffering from mental problems and was on medications on and off.
Houston Police Department report says that witnesses reported seeing a body in Buffalo Bayou near a bridge at the above address. The HPD Dive Team responded to the scene to recover the body. There were no signs of trauma found on the male and he had no identification in his possession.
