Body Of Missing Kenyan Man Gabriel Kariuki Found in a Beach in UK
The Body Of the Kenyan Man Gabriel Kariuki who has been missing in UK since May 17th 2021 has been found.
Police confirmed the body of a man found at Seaton Carew beach is that of 26-year-old, Gabriel Kariuki of Hartlepool.
According to gazettelive, Police had made several appeals to help locate him and friends had joined searches over the weeks he was missing.
On Friday, Cleveland Police said the body of a man was discovered on the beach at Seaton Carew.
The force confirmed on Tuesday that identification had taken place and the victim was Gabriel Kariuki.
A spokesperson said: “We are very sad to say that formal identification of a man whose body was discovered at Seaton Carew on Friday has now taken place and it has been confirmed to be that of Gabriel Kariuki.
“Gabriel’s death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the Coroner.
His family has been informed and they remain receiving support from specially trained officers. Our thoughts and sympathy are with all Gabriel’s family and friends at this very difficult time.”
Gabriel’s mum also shared a touching video clip of a rockery tribute to Gabriel at Seaton Carew, on behalf of their family.
Police and crime scene investigators attended the beach on Friday afternoon.
A private ambulance also attended and later drove away from the scene accompanied by a police car.
Mr Kariuki was last seen by his mum at around 10pm in the Grange Road area of the town on May 17.
In a later sighting, at around half past midnight on May 18, he was spotted on Victoria Road in the town.
Police said he was close to Loons public house and believed he was walking in the direction of the Marina.
Last week they also released a CCTV image of a car they wanted to identify the driver of which was in the area at the time.
There had been a number of other potential sightings but these had mainly been ruled out.
A number of pictures of Mr Kariuki had been released by police searching for him and friends posted missing persons notices around Seaton Carew and handed them out to walkers as they tried to find him.
