Born in Trans Nzoia in a humble background as the first born, Jackson knew that his siblings expected so much from him. Hard work, perseverance, tremendous sacrifices, and determination defined his path as he struggled to fill the shoes of unexpected responsibilities that rocked his family after the demise of his father. However, with limited employment opportunities in Kenya after completing his undergraduate degree, Jackson had a tough road.
Moments of despair and frustrations brought a burning desire to pursue his dream of studying and working in the US to provide for a family where he had to take the mantle of being the sole breadwinner. Unfortunately, he didn’t know where to start until an unanticipated opportunity through the Kenya Airlift Program came calling. When he landed into the US, I had an opportune moment to interview him as he shared his triumphant journey.
