Clifford Mwenda’s journey to Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he will pursue a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Information Science, is a testament to resilience and the power of persistence. Hailing from Meru County, Kenya, Clifford joined the International Scholars Program in January 2022, embarking on a journey that was anything but smooth but ultimately rewarding.
One of the biggest challenges Clifford faced came when the embassy denied his visa in December 2022. Although the setback discouraged him, it didn’t mark the end of his story. Determined to achieve his dream, he reapplied in 2024, secured approval, and prepared to relocate in August 2024.
This unwavering determination is the cornerstone of his advice to others in the program and those considering it: “Don’t give up. Keep trying, because you will always make it at some point.” Clifford’s story stands as proof that persistence pays off, even in the face of obstacles.
