We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence therefore is not an act, but a habit. What habits are you creating? It takes almost 21 days to form a habit whether good or bad. A classic example is the human body. If you decide to go jogging, the first two days are bearable but the third day gets quite taxing. What then do you do?
When we faithfully commit ourselves through the whole process we reap the fruits of endurance. Excellence must be moderated by balance, because when we seek excellence in one area, we risk neglecting our other values and priorities. It doesn’t mean being perfect; it means using our abilities and opportunities to their fullest. Whatever our mission in life, a commitment to excellence brings us closer to living it well and to attaining our dreams.
Therefore, in every single thing you do remember to give your best, making the most of every opportunity. Practice to do everything excellently and with time, excellence will become your habit.
Colossians 3:23-24:ย Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.
